Our mission is to connect athletes to their motivations and help them achieve their personal best. As we continue to grow, we are looking for a Senior Android Engineer II to join our team on a full-time, on-site basis in the United States.
Depending on your interests, you may join our Activation team to focus on user onboarding and retention, or our Activities team to work on the core product experience that processes millions of athletic efforts daily. In either role, you will collaborate with designers, analysts, and cross-functional engineers to build high-impact features that resonate with our global community.
Key outcomes
- Lead the development of core mobile functionalities that directly influence how millions of athletes interact with our platform.
- Take ownership of the full development lifecycle, from technical scoping and API design to implementation and unit testing.
- Build smooth, delightful, and maintainable mobile interfaces that solve real-world business challenges.
- Mentor fellow engineers and contribute to our technical culture through knowledge sharing and collaborative problem-solving.
- Partner with iOS and server-side teams to ensure seamless feature delivery and high-quality system integration.
- Drive technical conversations by leveraging deep expertise in the Android ecosystem.
Requirements
- Extensive experience developing production-grade Android applications using Kotlin.
- Proficiency in building and maintaining large, modularized codebases.
- Strong understanding of API design, networking, and unit testing techniques.
- A product-focused mindset with the ability to translate user needs into elegant technical solutions.
- Experience working with dependency injection frameworks.
- Excellent communication skills in English and a collaborative approach to working within a diverse team.
Preferred qualifications
- Hands-on experience with Jetpack Compose.
- Familiarity with GraphQL in a mobile environment.
- A track record of staying current with and experimenting with the latest Android technologies.
