The role

We are looking for a Mid-Level Analytics Software Engineer II to join our team on a full-time basis. This position is based in the United States and follows a hybrid work model. You will be instrumental in developing sophisticated analytics that extract value from diverse data sources, helping us answer complex questions and automate processes through machine learning frameworks.

Core responsibilities

• Utilize advanced technologies to build analytics that pull data from multiple disparate sources.
• Create prototypes that provide better answers to existing questions and explore new inquiries.
• Apply data science methods to develop novel ways of representing data and automating workflows using machine learning frameworks.

Skills and experience

To be successful in this role, you should possess the following qualifications and technical expertise:

• A Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field from an accredited institution.
• At least 3 years of experience working on projects of similar scope and complexity, with advanced degrees counting toward this requirement.
• Proficiency in Java, specifically with Pig and MapReduce, as well as Python.
• Practical experience with distributed, scalable Big Data stores like HBase and Accumulo.
• Working knowledge of the Hadoop Distributed File System and related technologies.
• Development experience within a Linux environment.
• Familiarity with the Atlassian suite, including Jira and Confluence.
• Bonus points for experience with Apache NiFi, IP protocols, network topologies, Maven, Git, JavaScript, and Jupyter Notebooks.
