What you'll do:
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Analytics Engineer to join the NinjaTrader Data team. As an Analytics Engineer, you will focus on building robust models, ensuring data consistency and availability across the business, and creating documentation that enables downstream teams to access, understand, and use data effectively. Working alongside product managers, data scientists, subject matter experts, and functional leads, you’ll build and fine-tune data pipelines, converting raw data into powerful insights that deliver the most value for stakeholders.
In this role you will:
- Develop and maintain core data models in dbt to support key business metrics and ensure data consistency
- Collaborate across departments to define business metrics and translate them into clear, actionable data outputs through effective data modeling
- Ensure downstream teams can access and utilize data effectively by providing comprehensive documentation and support
- Lead efforts to establish a framework in Looker Enterprise to support ad-hoc stakeholder requests via self-serve analytics
- Drive data quality initiatives by shaping data integrity guidelines, highlighting current issues, and collaborating with different stakeholders on implementation of proper fixes
- Regularly audit and review data models to maintain their relevance and accuracy, ensuring long-term data integrity across the organization
What you'll need:
- 3+ years in analytics engineering, data engineering, or data analysis, with a strong focus on building data pipelines and deriving insights
- 3+ years of SQL designing conceptual data models, developing comprehensive tests, and establishing a clear, efficient single source of truth
- 3+ years of using data visualization tools (e.g., Looker, Power BI, Tableau) to build or support self-serve dashboards that empower non-technical teams
- Familiarity with BigQuery/GCP, Looker, Python, and dbt
- Dependable team player with a strong work ethic, a desire to learn, and analytical and problem-solving skills, with a focus on data quality and design
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, collaborates effectively, seeks feedback, and strives for continual improvement
- Proven ability to proactively manage your own priorities and dependencies in alignment with cross-functional dependencies and product/business impact
Compensation:
The salary range for this role will be $125,000 - $150,000 USD. In addition, this position will also receive an annual target bonus of 10%. Bonus pay at NinjaTrader is based on individual performance (50%) as well as company/team performance (50%).
