Octopus Energy Group has grown significantly over the last decade, evolving from a local startup into the largest energy provider in the UK and a major global player serving over 10 million customers across eight countries. We are currently establishing a brand new Analytics Platform team tasked with centralizing our analytics tools and creating a unified data modeling strategy for our international operations. As a Senior Analytics Engineer in this full-time, hybrid role, you will help build a scalable platform that allows our global teams to derive consistent insights and optimize customer experiences.

Responsibilities

Design and maintain analytics models using dbt within a data mesh framework, while creating impactful charts and dashboards using modern BI tools.
Develop robust testing and data quality frameworks using tools like dbt_expectation and elementary to ensure our data remains reliable and trustworthy.
Establish clear data governance and documentation strategies to improve discoverability, while building efficient CI/CD pipelines for the deployment of analytics and BI models.

Requirements

We are looking for an experienced professional who is comfortable working in a fast-paced, autonomous environment. You should have a strong background in the following areas:

Advanced proficiency in SQL and Jinja.
Proven experience working with dbt Core and Git.
Hands-on experience with at least one major cloud warehouse provider, such as Databricks, GCP, or Snowflake.
While not required, familiarity with Python, Airflow, Kubernetes, Spark, or data modeling techniques like Kimball and OBT would be a significant advantage.
