We are Opendoor, and since 2014, we have been on a mission to simplify the home buying and selling process by creating a seamless, digital experience. Having already supported over 100,000 transactions, we are looking for a mid-level Analytics Engineer to join our team in India and help us continue transforming the real estate industry.
Responsibilities
- Architect and build technical components from the ground up as we shift toward event-based analytics.
- Create and maintain scalable, cost-effective data pipelines while integrating third-party tools.
- Collaborate with product and infrastructure teams to instrument backend services and track end-to-end user journeys.
- Design intuitive data models that serve as the foundation for business metrics and machine learning projects.
- Establish engineering best practices and evaluate build versus buy decisions for our internal analytics platform.
- Act as a founding member of our data engineering presence in India, with the autonomy to shape our roadmap and mentor future team members.
- Tackle the complex challenge of unifying diverse online and offline datasets to drive executive-level insights.
Must-haves
- A degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field.
- At least 3 years of experience managing data pipelines, event instrumentation, and data warehouses.
- Strong proficiency in SQL and Python.
- Solid understanding of systems design and data modeling principles.
- Hands-on experience with modern data warehouses like Snowflake or BigQuery.
- Fluency in workflow management tools such as Airflow or dbt.
- Excellent problem-solving skills with a focus on documentation and iterative improvement.
- Familiarity with software design principles, including test-driven development.
- Professional proficiency in English.
Nice-to-haves
- Prior experience acting as a data architect.
- Familiarity with data visualization platforms like Mode, Tableau, or Looker.
