At Opendoor, we are on a mission to simplify the real estate experience by providing a digital, end-to-end platform that makes buying and selling homes fast and certain. Since our founding in 2014, we have helped customers manage over 100,000 home transactions. We are looking for a Senior Analytics Engineer to join our team in India as a founding member of our local data engineering presence. This is a full-time, hybrid role where you will have the autonomy to shape our technical vision and influence our roadmap while working with a team dedicated to transforming a complex industry.
Key outcomes
- Architect and implement technical components from the ground up as we shift toward event-based analytics.
- Collaborate with product and infrastructure engineers to instrument backend services and track user journeys.
- Design, build, and maintain scalable, cost-efficient data pipelines while integrating third-party tools.
- Create intuitive data models in partnership with data scientists and analysts to support business metrics and machine learning efforts.
- Establish engineering best practices and evaluate build versus buy decisions for our analytics platform.
- Mentor junior team members and contribute to the growth of our engineering culture.
- Provide high-level visibility to executives and stakeholders by driving impactful business insights.
Requirements
- A Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field.
- At least 3 years of professional experience managing data pipelines, event instrumentation, and data warehouses.
- Strong proficiency in SQL and experience with Python.
- Deep knowledge of systems design and data modeling.
- Hands-on experience with workflow management tools such as Airflow or dbt.
- Technical expertise with modern data warehouses like Snowflake or BigQuery.
- Familiarity with data visualization tools and software design principles, including test-driven development.
- Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to document solutions and deliver iterative improvements.
- Professional fluency in English.
