Analytics Engineer at Opendoor

What you bring

We are seeking a mid-level Analytics Engineer to join us on a full-time basis in India. This is a hybrid role where you will help us transition to event-based analytics and build the foundation for our data platform. You will be a founding member of our engineering team in the region, giving you the autonomy to shape our vision and influence our technical roadmap. Your core responsibilities will include:

• Designing and implementing scalable, cost-efficient data pipelines while establishing best practices for data engineering.
• Partnering with product and infrastructure engineers to instrument backend services and create visibility across our end-to-end user journeys.
• Collaborating with data scientists and analysts to design robust data models that power our metrics and machine learning initiatives.

Requirements

To succeed in this role, you should have a strong background in engineering and a passion for building systems from the ground up. We require a degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, along with at least three years of experience managing data warehouses and pipelines. You must be fluent in SQL and Python, with a deep understanding of systems design and data modeling. We value candidates who have hands-on experience with modern tools like Airflow, dbt, Snowflake, or BigQuery. You should be comfortable breaking down complex problems and documenting your solutions, and you must be proficient in English to communicate effectively within our team.
