We are looking for a Senior Analytics Engineer to join our team on a full-time basis. Our tech team at the Democratic National Committee is dedicated to building lasting infrastructure that helps progressive candidates win elections across the country. We are a fully remote, distributed group with members living in 19 states, and we pride ourselves on bringing together people from diverse backgrounds in political campaigns, public sector tech, and private industry. We are committed to breaking the cycle of temporary political tech work by creating tools that improve and evolve with every election cycle.
Responsibilities
- Ensure our data remains reliable and excellent by partnering with product and engineering teams to maintain high quality standards for voter file data and other key assets.
- Build and maintain critical datasets that provide Democratic campaigns with the information they need to succeed in upcoming elections.
- Provide ongoing development and support to our users, including troubleshooting issues and offering ad hoc assistance to keep electoral activities moving forward.
Requirements
- High proficiency in SQL and the ability to work effectively with massive datasets.
- Proven experience using dbt to build reusable data processes and pipelines.
- Strong technical background with GCP, specifically BigQuery and Google Cloud Storage.
- Experience working with orchestration tools like Airflow to manage data workflows.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to explain complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- A high level of organization and a keen eye for detail when handling messy, complex data.
- A strong desire to solve unique problems in a fast-paced environment.
- Previous experience working with voter files or participating in political campaign data teams is highly valued.
What we offer
The annual salary for this position is $85,000. As a member of our team, you will enjoy the flexibility of remote work. Please note that this is a full-time, exempt role that may require some weekend work and has a scheduled end date of November 15, 2024.
