The opportunity
We are looking for an Analytics Engineer II to join our growing data team. You will play a pivotal role in shaping how we handle information, moving beyond simple data management to build the robust pipelines that power our entire business. By structuring our core datasets and creating high-quality data products, you will enable our teams to gain actionable insights that directly impact our customers. You will work closely with our product, engineering, and carrier relations departments to ensure that our data is accurate, accessible, and ready to drive decision-making.
A day in the life
- You will design, optimize, and maintain scalable ELT pipelines, primarily using BigQuery alongside dbt or Dataform.
- You will partner with cross-functional teams to identify their unique needs and translate those requirements into effective, data-driven technical solutions.
- You will take ownership of medium-scale data projects, ensuring rigorous quality testing and clear communication with stakeholders throughout the process.
Who you are
You are a senior-level professional with at least four years of experience in data or analytics engineering. You possess a deep technical toolkit and a passion for solving complex problems, even when the data is messy or incomplete. You thrive in collaborative environments and are comfortable mentoring others to help elevate the team's collective output.
- You have advanced proficiency in SQL and hands-on experience building pipelines with dbt or Dataform.
- You have experience with Python and familiarity with data visualization tools like Metabase, Hex, Tableau, or PowerBI.
- You are an excellent communicator who enjoys working across departments to standardize processes and ensure data consistency.
- You are fluent in English and authorized to work from an approved location within the U.S.
Why you'll love it here
We believe in supporting your professional growth and your personal well-being. We offer a competitive base salary range of $125,000 to $145,000 USD, which is just one part of a total compensation package designed to help you thrive. You will have the opportunity to work in a mission-driven environment where your contributions have a direct, visible impact.
Our benefits package includes:
- Equity compensation and a 401k plan.
- Comprehensive dental and vision insurance.
- Flexible work location options, including support for remote work.
- Generous paid time off, including 11 paid holidays and a two-week sabbatical after five years.
- Access to wellness programs, including SpringHealth and OneMedical.
