Varda is opening the frontier of low Earth orbit by building the infrastructure necessary to manufacture life-saving pharmaceuticals and advanced materials in space. We are seeking a Senior Analytical Scientist to join our team in El Segundo, California, and help us expand the economic potential of humankind.

Responsibilities

Develop and validate analytical methods to characterize our drug substances and products.
Execute hands-on laboratory experiments and manage relationships with external testing facilities.
Partner with our product development, pharmaceutical science, and engineering teams to advance our drug development pipeline.

Must-haves

An M.S. or Ph.D. in Chemistry, Biochemistry, Chemical Engineering, Materials Science, or a related field.
Proven industry experience in an analytical role.
Must be a U.S. person as defined by ITAR regulations to ensure access to export-controlled technology.
Fluency in English.

Nice-to-haves

A Ph.D. in Analytical or Organic Chemistry with at least 5 years of relevant industry experience.
Technical proficiency with UV, NMR, FTIR, Raman, and particle size analysis.
Expertise in chromatographic and affinity-based methods, including HPLC/UPLC, LC-MS, SECMALS, GC, and SDS-PAGE.
A strong publication record in peer-reviewed journals and experience presenting at scientific conferences.
A history of serving as a technical owner or lead engineer throughout the full project lifecycle.

Benefits

The salary range for this position is $100,000.00 - $140,000.00 per year.
