We are currently seeking an Analytical Lab Technician to join our team on a full-time, on-site basis to help us push the boundaries of 3D printing and material science.
Key outcomes
- Execute precise mechanical, physical, and chemical tests on resins, materials, and finished parts.
- Operate specialized testing instrumentation, including Universal Testing Machines and impact testers.
- Design and construct custom testing fixtures and jigs to meet unique project requirements.
- Document all findings through clear, accurate, and concise technical reports.
- Maintain laboratory standards, including equipment upkeep and inventory management.
- Collaborate with the broader analytical team to characterize new materials and support ongoing research initiatives.
Requirements
- A two-year associate degree or at least two years of relevant experience in a mechanical testing laboratory.
- Strong technical aptitude with a solid understanding of material properties and strength of materials.
- Proficiency in a Windows computing environment, specifically with Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
- Excellent mechanical skills, including the ability to build fixtures and work with complex testing equipment.
- Strong problem-solving and analytical capabilities.
- A professional demeanor with the ability to maintain effective relationships across different departments.
- Capacity to thrive in a fast-paced environment while managing multiple priorities.
- Fluency in English.
Preferred qualifications
- Previous experience working within a research or testing laboratory setting.
- Direct experience running a Universal Testing Machine (UTM).
- Proven ability to collect, plot, and interpret experimental data.
- Experience in the design and fabrication of ancillary testing equipment.
- Specific knowledge regarding polymers and instrumentation.
