The opportunity

We are looking for an Algorithm Developer Team Lead to join our team in Israel. In this role, you will be at the heart of our routing engine, leading the development and evolution of the systems that keep our transit networks running smoothly. You will guide a talented group of engineers, working alongside cross-functional teams to design and refine algorithms that handle large-scale, real-time data. This is a full-time, hybrid position where you will balance high-level strategy with hands-on technical leadership to ensure our navigation solutions remain best in class.

A day in the life

• You will lead and manage a team of backend engineers, overseeing the full lifecycle of our core infrastructure and end-to-end services.
• You will collaborate closely with our product and algorithm teams to design, refine, and optimize routing algorithms that perform efficiently under real-time, large-scale conditions.
• You will act as a mentor and coach, fostering the growth of your team members while promoting engineering best practices to solve complex technical challenges.

Who you are

You are a seasoned leader with a passion for building scalable, elegant solutions. You have a strong analytical mindset and the ability to break down intricate problems into actionable steps. To be successful in this role, you should have the following background:

• At least 6 years of experience in backend software development using languages such as Python, Go, or Java.
• A minimum of 2 years of experience in a technical leadership role.
• A solid foundation in algorithms, data structures, and performance optimization, specifically regarding routing and pathfinding.
• A BSc in Computer Science, Mathematics, or an equivalent field.
• Proficiency in English.
• Experience with AWS, Kubernetes, and React is considered a strong advantage.
• An M.Sc. or PhD in a quantitative field like Computer Science, Mathematics, or Physics is also a plus.
