At Karman+, our mission is to mine near-Earth asteroids to secure sustainable resources for both space exploration and life on Earth. We are a team of scientists, engineers, and space enthusiasts who believe that the Regolith Age is an inevitability we can accelerate. By joining us, you are helping to build the critical infrastructure required to expand humanity beyond the Kármán line and reset our resource-driven growth onto a sustainable path.
The role
We are seeking a Senior AI&T Engineer - Electrical to join our team on a full-time, on-site basis in Broomfield, CO. This is a hands-on, high-impact position for an experienced engineer who wants to own the design, construction, and maintenance of the electrical ground support equipment (EGSE) that powers our spacecraft assembly, integration, and test operations. You will be a vital part of our mission to build the High Frontier, working in a fast-paced environment where you can influence spacecraft-level design and testing strategies.
Core responsibilities
- Take full ownership of EGSE systems, ensuring they are robust enough to support our AI&T and Hardware-in-the-loop (HITL) testing environments.
- Design and build essential ground systems, including power distribution, data interfaces, electrical load simulation, and RF calibration support.
- Drive the hands-on integration, troubleshooting, and maintenance of test hardware while developing standard operating procedures for all ground systems.
Skills and experience
To be successful in this role, you should bring a strong background in aerospace development and a passion for building hardware from the ground up. We require the following qualifications:
- At least 5 years of direct experience supporting spacecraft development, flight programs, or aerospace test environments.
- A Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or a related technical field.
- Proven ability to design and operate EGSE, with deep familiarity in power distribution, avionics, and networking protocols.
- Hands-on proficiency with Altium, SolidWorks, and Linux.
- Experience with test scripting languages such as Python, Bash, or Lua.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, iterative environment and meet ITAR requirements for U.S. space technology export regulations.
Compensation and benefits
The annual salary for this position is $90,000.00 to $130,000.00, depending on your specific expertise and experience. Beyond your salary, we offer a comprehensive benefits package designed to support your well-being and long-term success:
- Equity compensation to ensure you share in the value we create together.
- Comprehensive medical, dental, and vision insurance plans.
- Disability and life insurance coverage provided by the company.
- A 401k retirement plan.
- Unlimited vacation policy, as we prioritize results and output over hours clocked.
How to apply
If you are ready to help us build the technology that will power our future in space, we would love to hear from you. Please submit your application through our careers portal. We are committed to an inclusive hiring process and encourage all qualified candidates to reach out, including those who may require reasonable accommodations.
