Role at a glance
We are seeking a Senior Aircraft Safety Engineer to join our team on a full-time basis. This is an on-site role based in El Segundo, California, where you will play a critical part in our systems development and certification efforts. You will report directly to the Manager of Certification and Systems, helping us build the future of flight from the ground up.
Your impact
- You will own the creation and review of essential safety deliverables, including Functional Hazard Assessments, Fault Trees, FMEA, and other critical safety analyses.
- You will lead the development of preliminary and final System Safety Assessments while maintaining our internal safety database and risk register.
- You will serve as a mentor to the organization, influencing our internal culture by promoting best practices in system safety and continuous airworthiness.
What you'll need
To succeed in this role, you should have a strong background in engineering and a deep commitment to safety standards. We are looking for candidates who possess the following:
- A Bachelor’s degree in an engineering discipline.
- At least 7 years of experience in aircraft systems development.
- Comprehensive knowledge of Part 25, 27, and 29 safety requirements.
- Exceptional communication skills and a proactive attitude toward process improvement.
- Fluency in English.
- Familiarity with industry standards like AC 1309 and SAE ARP 4761 is highly valued, as is experience with requirements management tools such as JAMA, Polarion, or DOORS.
- Candidates with a background in full commercial aircraft life-cycle development or those holding an active FAA System Safety Designated Engineering Representative status are encouraged to apply.
Perks and compensation
We offer a competitive salary range of $140,000 to $190,000. In addition to your base pay, you will receive:
