The opportunity

We are looking for a Senior AI/Machine Learning Engineer to join our team on a full-time basis. This role is a unique chance to design and build cutting-edge, AI-driven solutions from the ground up. You will play a critical part in shaping our AI infrastructure, optimizing models for real-world applications, and ensuring the scalability and efficiency of our automation systems. You will work closely with our Chief Architect, data engineers, and product owners to drive innovation, ensuring our platform remains a trusted tool for five of Canada’s top ten brokerages.

A day in the life

• Design, develop, and deploy machine learning models using modern frameworks like PyTorch and scikit-learn, ensuring they are optimized for efficiency and real-time inference.
• Build and maintain scalable end-to-end ML pipelines for data ingestion, feature engineering, and model training, while establishing robust MLOps practices for monitoring and deployment.
• Fine-tune GPT-based models and other large language models to align with specific business needs, focusing on domain-specific performance, cost efficiency, and latency.

Who you are

You are a visionary engineer who thrives in a fast-paced environment and is deeply curious about the potential of AI-driven automation. You have a proven track record of building scalable ML pipelines and data solutions, and you are comfortable working in a hybrid setting, with our Vancouver-based team members working from our Gastown office three days a week.

Your background includes:

• Strong proficiency in Python and SQL.
• Hands-on experience with cloud-native environments, including AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud.
• Experience with model lifecycle management tools and containerization technologies like Docker and Kubernetes.
• An analytical mindset with the ability to design scalable data architectures and communicate complex AI concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
• Excellent command of the English language.

The base salary range for this position is 100,000 CAD to 125,000 CAD, depending on your experience and the specific stock option package you choose.
