What is this role?
We are seeking a Senior AI Research Scientist to join our team on a full-time basis. This is a hybrid position based in the United States, where you will play a critical role in pushing the boundaries of our technology. You will focus on applied research, using your expertise in forecasting and machine learning to tackle the unique challenges of modern energy markets. This role is perfect for a researcher who wants to see their work have a real-world impact on the environment while also contributing to the broader academic community.
What will you do?
- Develop a deep understanding of energy market mechanisms to discover and adapt advanced mathematical methods for solving specific industry problems.
- Stay at the forefront of machine learning research to identify and implement promising new techniques for electricity market forecasting and decision-making.
- Design, execute, and analyze experiments using cutting-edge machine learning models while promoting statistical rigor and probabilistic thinking across our engineering team.
What makes you a great fit?
To succeed in this role, you should have a strong foundation in both theory and practical application. We are looking for candidates who bring the following:
- A PhD in machine learning, statistics, or a related quantitative field.
- A proven track record of high-quality publications in venues such as NeurIPS, ICLR, or ICML, or relevant work in forecasting and generative models.
- Expertise in Python and familiarity with machine learning frameworks like PyTorch, TensorFlow, and scikit-learn.
- Strong analytical skills and the ability to write robust, readable, and optimized code.
- Excellent communication and mentorship abilities, paired with a genuine enthusiasm for learning new concepts, including those related to the energy industry.
