The role
We are looking for a Senior AI Product & Research Engineer to join us on a full-time, on-site basis in the United Kingdom. This is a first-on-the-ground position for our new AI unit. You will be responsible for transforming complex LLM concepts into functional prototypes, driving automation initiatives, and building the foundation for our AI infrastructure.
Core responsibilities
- Design and optimize prompt orchestration using tools like LangChain or LlamaIndex, while managing AI microservices through Docker, Kubernetes, and FastAPI.
- Develop retrieval-augmented workflows by managing vector databases such as Pinecone, FAISS, or Weaviate to enable advanced similarity search features.
- Create interactive proofs-of-concept and AI demos using Streamlit or similar frameworks to gather immediate stakeholder feedback and iterate on product features.
Skills and experience
To succeed in this role, you should possess a strong technical background and a passion for rapid development. We require the following qualifications:
- A Master’s degree in AI or Computer Science.
- Extensive experience with Python and integrating LLM APIs from providers like OpenAI or Hugging Face.
- Proven expertise in fine-tuning models and building document embedding pipelines.
- Practical knowledge of containerization with Docker and experience with deployment orchestration platforms.
- Strong communication skills, with the ability to translate technical AI solutions into clear business value.
