Nimble Giant Entertainment is seeking a Senior AI Game Programmer to join our remote team and help us build the next generation of AAA gaming experiences. Since 2002, we have established ourselves as a leading studio in Latin America, creating notable titles like Star Trek: Infinite, Master of Orion, and Quantum League, and we are proud to be part of the Saber Interactive family.
Responsibilities
- Develop and optimize code to implement sophisticated Artificial Intelligence systems for gameplay.
- Partner with designers to integrate AI functionality across various game mechanics.
- Design and refine AI architectures to ensure high performance and stability.
- Engage in code reviews to maintain high standards of quality and long-term maintainability.
- Identify technical challenges early and propose effective, innovative solutions.
- Stay current with industry advancements in AI to bring fresh methodologies to our projects.
- Coordinate with artists and animators to ensure AI behaviors feel natural within the game world.
- Build and document tools and pipelines that improve our overall development workflow.
Must-haves
- At least 3 years of professional experience in video game programming, specifically focusing on AI development for NPCs and enemy behaviors.
- Proficiency with systems like Behavior Trees, EQS, or GOAP.
- Proven ability to work effectively within a shared codebase alongside other developers.
- An intermediate level of English proficiency, roughly equivalent to a B1 level.
Nice-to-haves
- Strong technical skills in C++.
- Practical experience using Unreal Engine or similar professional game engines.
- Familiarity with custom engine development.
- Understanding of networking principles and implementation of multiplayer features.
- A solid academic foundation in 3D mathematics, including linear algebra, trigonometry, and vectors.
- Experience navigating and contributing to large, existing codebases.
- A firm grasp of game design principles.
- Experience working within Agile or Scrum frameworks.
- Advanced English proficiency, ideally at a C1 level.
