The opportunity
As an AI Engineer II, you will lead the charge in designing and delivering production-grade AI systems that make a real-world impact. You will not just be writing code. You will be architecting the systems that support our scientific partners, including retrieval-augmented generation pipelines, agentic workflows, and the robust platform services that keep our applications running smoothly. A day in the life
- You will architect and maintain sophisticated AI applications using Python, focusing on conversational assistants and retrieval-augmented generation systems that handle complex, domain-specific data.
- You will partner directly with scientists and program managers to understand their unique challenges, translating their needs into clear technical requirements and actionable development plans.
- You will manage the full lifecycle of our services, from provisioning and deploying on Kubernetes to monitoring performance metrics and ensuring our infrastructure remains scalable and secure.
Who you are
You are a seasoned engineer with over five years of professional experience and a deep, hands-on background in building AI or machine learning applications. You communicate clearly in English and have a knack for explaining technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders. Your toolkit includes proficiency in Python, Docker, PostgreSQL, and Git, and you are comfortable working in Linux environments. You have a proven ability to own technical direction, mentor those around you, and drive projects to completion while working independently in a remote setting.
