Key outcomes
- Develop and prototype new product concepts that set new standards for performance and user experience in consumer electronics.
- Collaborate with engineering, industrial design, user-experience, and manufacturing teams to translate early ideas into production-ready solutions.
- Guide technologies from initial concept through tooling and high-volume manufacturing while maintaining design intent and cost targets.
- Shape the product roadmap by identifying consumer-driven opportunities and championing ideas that expand our portfolio.
- Communicate design direction rapidly through sketches, CAD layouts, 3D models, and working prototypes to align stakeholders and accelerate decision-making.
- Manage relationships with external technology partners to shorten development cycles and secure critical capabilities ahead of competitors.
- Balance rigorous product definition with the flexibility to pursue breakthrough ideas that arise during the creative process.
Requirements
- Degree-level qualification in Industrial Design, Mechanical Engineering, Product Design Engineering, or a closely related field with substantial product-design content.
- Extensive professional experience in an industrial-design, product-design, or front-end-innovation environment.
- Demonstrated success taking consumer-product concepts from initial exploration through selection, tooling, and mass production.
- Strong proficiency in CAD and 3D modeling tools to create detailed layouts and evaluate design alternatives.
- Hands-on experience with high-volume manufacturing processes such as plastic injection molding, sheet-metal fabrication, and die casting.
- Proven leadership ability, excellent verbal and written communication skills, and an ability to inspire cross-functional teams in a fast-paced setting.
- Fluency in English, both written and spoken.
- Willingness to work on-site at our United Kingdom location.
Preferred qualifications
- Experience leading external development partners or suppliers to deliver complex electromechanical consumer products.
- Track record of introducing products into new categories and achieving measurable market-share gains.
