The opportunity
We are searching for a Senior Account Executive to spearhead our sales efforts across Japan. Reporting to our Global VP of Sales in London and the Head of Sales in APAC, you will serve as the primary expert for our Kraken Technologies and KrakenFlex platforms. This is a high-impact role where you will define our market strategy, lead our local sales team, and engage with major energy players to replace outdated technology stacks with our advanced, cloud-native solutions. You will be a vital link between our local operations in Japan and our global teams in London and the US, driving the growth needed to reach our goal of powering 100 million households by 2027.
A day in the life
- Drive revenue growth and client acquisition by identifying and securing new enterprise partnerships across the Japanese energy market.
- Collaborate with our product and marketing teams to refine our value proposition, ensuring our messaging resonates with local utility clients and highlights our unique technological capabilities.
- Act as a subject matter expert on the energy tech landscape, conducting deep competitive analysis and building strategic relationships to position Kraken as the premier choice for digital transformation.
Who you are
You are an experienced sales professional with a proven track record of closing enterprise-level software deals. You thrive in complex environments and possess the gravitas to negotiate with senior stakeholders. Because our work is global, you must be comfortable working as part of a distributed team and be willing to travel as needed. Your background should include:
- Native or bilingual proficiency in Japanese and professional fluency in English.
- Extensive experience in enterprise software sales, including a history of initiating and leading strategic conversations.
- A collaborative mindset, with the ability to work effectively alongside both local and international colleagues.
- A solid network of energy sector contacts or partners in Japan is highly desirable, as is prior experience in the energy tech space.
