THE ROLE (Secondment Role)
We are seeking a dynamic Account Director with a strong background in Technology communications to join our team on a full-time secondment with a key client. This role requires a seasoned professional who can seamlessly integrate into the client’s in-house team, deliver strategic communications counsel, and lead high-impact campaigns that shape perception, drive engagement, and support business goals.
KEY ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Act as a strategic advisor to senior stakeholders on all aspects of tech communications, media relations, and reputation management.Develop and execute integrated communications strategies across earned, owned, and shared media channels.Lead day-to-day client-side delivery, ensuring timely execution of campaigns, content development, media outreach, and reporting.Provide senior counsel during issues management and crisis response, working cross-functionally with internal and external stakeholders.Support corporate narrative development related to technology innovation, digital transformation, and the client’s sector leadership.Manage agency relationships (if any), budgets, and performance metrics.Monitor industry trends, competitor activity, and tech policy developments to inform proactive storytelling opportunities.Build and maintain strong relationships with key tech media, influencers, and industry thought leaders in the region.Coach and mentor junior team members (internal or client-side) as needed.KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS
8+ years of experience in public relations or corporate communications, with a strong focus on technology clients, products, or sectors.Proven track record in media relations, especially within the tech and innovation ecosystem.Experience working in-house, on secondment, or in close partnership with client teams is an advantage.Strong understanding of the Middle East media landscape and cultural context.Excellent writing, presentation, and client servicing skills.Ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities, and thrive in a fast-paced, high-stakes environment.WHY EDELMAN?
