We are currently accepting applications for a Senior Accessibility Engineer to join our team on a full-time, remote basis. At Coforma, we are a team of over 150 creators dedicated to improving lives through human-centered technology. We partner with government agencies, nonprofits, and commercial clients to build digital services that are accessible, inclusive, and impactful. Whether we are helping families in crisis or streamlining data for public health, our work focuses on solving complex problems with empathy and technical excellence. While we are not hiring for this specific role today, we are building a pipeline of talented individuals for future opportunities.
Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain high-quality, clean code while collaborating with cross-functional teams to solve complex accessibility challenges.
- Perform both manual and automated accessibility testing to ensure our products are usable for everyone, including assisting with the creation of Voluntary Product Accessibility Templates.
- Mentor team members on accessibility best practices and share technical solutions to improve our internal systems and development processes.
Requirements

- Deep expertise in web fundamentals, including semantic HTML, WAI-ARIA, and CSS.
- Proficiency in modern programming languages like JavaScript or TypeScript and experience with frameworks such as React.
- Hands-on experience using assistive technologies, such as screen readers and voice input tools, to perform manual accessibility analysis.
- A solid understanding of testing frameworks and the ability to write unit and end-to-end tests that verify accessibility compliance.
- Experience working within Agile and Scrum methodologies to deliver scalable and maintainable software.
- Professional experience in digital services or federal consulting is highly regarded, as is holding relevant accessibility certifications like CPACC or WAS.
