At Red 6, we are building the next generation of augmented reality tools that let pilots train in realistic outdoor environments without ever leaving the ground. Our ATARS platform combines advanced AR hardware with high-fidelity 3D content to deliver scalable, immersive air-combat exercises. We are looking for a senior 3D Modeler who is ready to shape the visual foundation of these systems and help us push the boundaries of what mixed-reality training can achieve.
What you'll be doing
- Design and produce high-quality 3D models, environments, and materials that support military-themed AR and VR training scenarios.
- Build real-time visual effects using particles, shaders, textures, and animation inside Unreal Engine, ensuring assets run smoothly on a range of target hardware.
- Document asset pipelines, collaborate with engineers and artists, and refine models based on feedback to maintain visual fidelity while meeting performance goals.
What you'll bring
- At least four years of professional experience creating and shipping 3D assets for games, simulations, or AR/VR applications, preferably in Unreal Engine.
- Strong command of Autodesk 3DS Max, Maya, or Blender, along with Adobe Photoshop and Substance Painter for texturing and optimization.
- Proven skill in hard-surface modeling, UV unwrapping, PBR texturing, and producing optimized geometry that retains visual quality on lower-end platforms.
- Experience with rigging, animation, and virtual-reality hardware such as Rift or VIVE, plus familiarity with Jira, Perforce, or similar tracking and version-control tools.
- A portfolio that demonstrates commercial work and attention to detail, along with clear written and verbal communication skills.
- English fluency and the ability to work on-site in Orlando, Florida; relocation support is available, and U.S. citizenship is required for roles that may involve security clearance.
