We are ALTEN Technology USA, an engineering firm that helps clients turn ambitious concepts into reality. Our team of over 3,000 experts across North America works on everything from space exploration and medical technology to autonomous electric vehicles, and we are looking for a Lead 2D CAD Designer to join our team in the United States on a full-time, on-site basis.
Responsibilities
- Take the lead on maintaining plant layouts and equipment activities.
- Integrate drawings provided by suppliers into a master layout and manage the weekly release of these records.
- Oversee the organized and timely submission of all AutoCAD drawings through the client portal.
- Create detailed conveyor layouts and designs, including station layouts, cross-sections, interference drawings, and envelope or chording studies.
- Conduct accurate field observations and measurements to incorporate data from various vendors into the composite plant layout.
- Report directly to the engineering program manager.
Must-haves
- At least 10 years of experience using AutoCAD for design within automotive manufacturing environments.
- A deep understanding of conveyor design, including various conveyor types and their specific components.
- Familiarity with client assembly project standards.
- The ability to work independently as a self-starter.
- Fluency in English.
