Imagine a small, focused group of engineers working quietly from home offices across Europe, building and refining the digital tools that help NATO plan and coordinate operations. We are the NATO Information and Communication Agency, and our C2 Centre keeps those tools reliable, secure, and ready for the future.
The opportunity
We need a senior full-stack developer to join the TOPFAS project on a full-time, remote basis. Your work will keep the application current, stable, and easy to use while you collaborate daily with project managers, technical leads, and fellow developers. Because the role is performed off-site, we apply a 5 % discount to the agreed rate in line with our standard terms.
A day in the life
- You log in each morning to review the latest sprint tasks in Azure DevOps, then spend focused time writing or reviewing C# code that improves the front-end interface and its connection to back-end services.
- Throughout the day you investigate issues, write or update automated tests, and document your findings so the whole team understands the trade-offs of each solution.
- At the end of every two-week sprint you prepare a short demo, present your progress in the review meeting, and send a concise written summary to the project manager.
Who you are
You already hold an active NATO SECRET clearance and a university degree in computer science or a related field. You bring more than ten years of professional software development experience, including at least five years writing in C# and three years building ASP.NET web applications. You are comfortable with the .NET Framework 4.8, have worked with SQL Server and PL/SQL, and know how to manage source code in Git. Clear, confident communication in English comes naturally to you, and you enjoy sharing knowledge in a multinational team.
Experience migrating applications to .NET Core, familiarity with ASP.NET MVC or Web API, hands-on use of Azure DevOps, and knowledge of automated testing tools such as Playwright are all valuable assets.
Why you'll love it here
You will work entirely from your own location, supported by a structured Agile process that keeps priorities clear and feedback frequent. Every two weeks you see your contributions demonstrated and accepted, and you have the option to extend your engagement through 2025 if the project continues. Travel to other NATO sites may arise, with expenses covered according to our framework agreement. Above all, you will know that the code you write supports the people who keep NATO ready and secure.
