We are Tubi, a premium ad-supported video-on-demand service under the Fox Corporation. Our platform is dedicated to making entertainment accessible to everyone, offering a vast library of over 50,000 movies and television shows, along with hundreds of live news and sports channels. By partnering with every major Hollywood studio, we provide a free, easy way for viewers to discover content. As we continue to grow, we are looking for creative and motivated individuals to help us shape the future of streaming. We are currently seeking a Senior Software Engineer to join our team in China to focus on our advertising and video streaming infrastructure.
Key outcomes
- Design, build, and maintain high-performance, reliable, and scalable distributed systems.
- Develop and support our server-side ad insertion technology, which is essential for monetizing our streaming content while maintaining a seamless user experience.
- Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to ensure smooth integration across all system components.
- Write clean, efficient, and maintainable code that meets our high engineering standards.
- Provide technical mentorship to other engineers and participate in code reviews to foster growth and quality.
- Diagnose and resolve complex production issues to ensure system stability.
- Stay current with the latest advancements in Elixir and related technologies to help define our internal best practices and standards.
Requirements
- A bachelor's degree or higher, supported by at least 5 years of professional software development experience.
- Strong proficiency in Elixir, Erlang, and OTP. We also welcome applicants who are eager to learn these technologies if they have a strong background in other areas.
- Proven experience in designing and developing large-scale, high-reliability distributed systems.
- Solid understanding of microservices architecture and containerization.
- Practical experience with database technologies, specifically PostgreSQL and Redis.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to communicate effectively within a distributed team.
- Fluency in both English and Chinese.
