Back-End Engineer at Veriff

We are backed by world-class investors like Accel, Y Combinator, and IVP, and we are looking for a talented Senior Back-End Engineer to join our Data Verification team and help us push the boundaries of what we can achieve.

The opportunity

As a key member of our backend team, you will play a vital role in extending our platform beyond standard identity verification. You will focus on mission-critical products like Proof of Address and AML Screening, helping us standardize complex registry integrations. This is a chance to take ownership of significant features and contribute to the architecture that keeps Veriff at the cutting edge of the industry. We are looking for someone who is ready to tackle complex technical challenges and help us grow our portfolio in a fast-paced, innovative environment.

A day in the life

• You will design, develop, and test robust software applications, primarily utilizing TypeScript and NodeJS, with occasional work in Python.
• You will take full ownership of feature development, from initial design and code reviews to shipping high-quality, well-tested components into production.
• You will collaborate across teams to solve problems of moderate scope, sharing innovations and driving improvements to our existing systems and codebase.

Who you are

You are a seasoned engineer with a passion for building large-scale applications. You have a proven track record of shipping software and managing complex codebases. Specifically, we are looking for the following:

• At least 3 years of professional experience in software engineering, with a strong focus on building large-scale systems.
• Deep proficiency in NodeJS and TypeScript, along with practical experience using Python.
• A background that includes taking full ownership of a specific product feature from concept to completion.
• A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related technical field.
• An ability to thrive in a scaleup environment is considered a significant plus.
• Fluency in English is required for our collaborative, global team.
